New site for UK IT Sales People
- How do
you find good sales people in the IT market? There are many sites which service
this area. I've known Len Greenwood, who runs the
ESPeople since the
early 1990's when he was working in the Sun, and later STORAGE markets. This is
a case of poacher turned gamekeeper, and Len can help you source Sales people
using his extensive industry contacts and the above web site.

UK Advertising Info
Free Online
- AdvertExpress
is a dynamic, on-line marketplace that allows companies to search, select and
buy the advertising space they require whatever their budget. Once registered,
users can search the site's all-media database that lists details of over 12,000
magazines, newspapers, radio stations and TV channels in the UK using
information supplied from the industry leading BRAD database. Buyers can even
take advantage of more unusual media such as takeaway lids and receipts.
Specific criteria regarding the desired audience - age, sex, location, social
type + can be inputted and a list with closest matches will be displayed. Users
are then free to contact sellers via e-mail, either making an offer for space or
simply paying an agreed price. Users can also browse the 'Ad Space For Sale'
board that lists special offers from media owners.
Editor's note:- this site, AdvertExpress, was launched in May,
but only came to my attention recently. Although it's the 3rd UK site to offer
this functionality (to my knowledge) it's the first one which has actually been
implemented properly. Earlier sites such as BRADnet were unusable because they
couldn't be accessed without downloading Shockwave, and the newer MyAdMedia.com
doesn't work at all if your version of Internet Explorer is 12 months old. Web
businesses can be made or broken by their web design, a paradigm which many
traditional publishers still don't understand.

LogoAxis, Inc. Launches
Business-to-Business Services Site for Secure Storage and Distribution of Logos
and Corporate Graphic Assets
- LogoAxis, Inc. today announced the launch of
LogoAxis.com, an Internet-based
business-to-business service for storage and distribution of logos and other
corporate graphic assets. Designed to meet the unique needs of corporate
marketing departments, LogoAxis.com provides a single, centralized,
password-protected location that can be easily accessed by the press, creative
partners or regional offices through public Internet connections. In addition,
LogoAxis includes graphic translation services to translate graphics
into formats that may be missing or unavailable. The site solves the
long-standing problem of providing timely access to corporate graphics while
also maintaining security and quality control.
'Anyone who's ever worked in a corporate marketing department knows
that requesting and providing logos is a time-consuming and difficult task. You
never seem to have the right logo in the right format at the right time,'
explained Emily Brower, president of LogoAxis. 'LogoAxis solves this problem by
providing a service site that makes distributing logos a simple task,
eliminating missed-opportunities and increasing quality control.'
LogoAxis clients pay a subscription fee for a storage area on the
site, which includes easy-to-use tools for uploading graphics to an Asset
Directory and generating passwords for the press, creative agencies, business
partners and regional sales offices that need access to the Asset Directory.
Passwords can be generated for access to specific areas of a client's Asset
Directory, providing further security and quality control. The site also
includes a Design Guide area for uploading guidelines on proper logo use and
placement.
'We know that corporate marketers don't have time to learn complicated
systems and technology, so we've designed LogoAxis to be fully automated and
easy to use,' explained Sandra Cannon, CEO of LogoAxis. 'Even our graphic
translation services can be ordered and completed via emails and the site's
automated messaging system, eliminating phone tag and confused orders.'

new STORAGE portals
directory
- It's not just the computer storage market that's
growing fast. New portals which focus on this market seem to pop up every week.
It's hard to find you way around the fragmented storage market because most
portals are closed systems. Today computer directory publisher
ACSL launched a
new directory page on STORAGE
portals which collects in one place, many of the directories which
previously appeared scattered in other parts of the site. This should help IT
Marketers find the information sources and advertising channels they need more
easily.
